Common questions

Before you come in

Where is Mother Goose Tattoo?
35 Stubbs St, Kensington VIC 3031 — about ten minutes north-west of the Melbourne CBD and a short walk from Kensington Station. Street parking is usually available on Stubbs St.
Do I need an appointment?
Mostly yes. Every artist here is independent and keeps their own book, so you arrange your piece with them directly on Instagram. Walk-ins happen when someone has a gap, but a DM first is the reliable way in.
Can I get a cover-up or have an old tattoo lightened?
Yes — Ink Off Laser shares the building, so lightening and cover-up prep happen on site. Talk to your artist about how many laser sessions your piece needs before they start drawing.
How long can a session run?
The room is set up for long sits — six to eight hours is normal for large-scale work. Chairs are booked by the day, so your artist is not rushed by the next booking.
Do artists take walk-ins for small tattoos?
Sometimes. Flash and small pieces can often be squeezed in on a quiet day. Check @mothergoose.tattoo or message the artist you want before making the trip.
